Quaternary evolution of the Golo river alluvial plain (NE Corsica, France)

The Golo River drains a steep catchment (average gradient of 30 m km?1, surface 1214 km2) in the northeast part Corsica Island, delivering sediments to Ligurian Sea. In this study, we review and revise geologic map constrain extent coastal alluvial plain formations their relative absolute chronology. To update each formation, performed geomorphologic analysis with DEMs satellite imagery data coupled an extensive pedogenic sedimentary field observations database, including new borehole 117,4 depth. Our chronology, based on soil chronosequences, implies older ages than those previously obtained luminescence methods.
